Dear Mr Farmiloe,
Thank you for your king letter. I am glad you are willing
to publish the collection of essays and I am satisfied
with the royalties offered. I am expecting your Enntract
proposals.
There is a technical detail which I have to raise already
now because it affects the practical work I have to do.
I have readethe Advice for Authors. Since a large part fof
the material is already printed I take it you will not insist
on retyping, in view of the likely accumulation of errors,
but aKxept good photocopies of the original prints
made on A4 sheets which will always leave the required
margin (4and2.5 cm ) or more. There will also be plenty of
space at the bottom where I should put my additions and
corrections. I hope you will not object either if there is,
in some of the papers, an alternation of print and typescript.
I should very much prefer footnotes (which I use very
sparingly ) to end notes if at all possible, but this is
a minor point.
I shall take steps to clear the required permissions from
the copyright holders.
