If you insist on getting Krishna's and my opinion on the several
points at issue directly without intervention of Heinz Kurz, we
shall of course oblige.
But I think that it could be of great help to all of us if there
could be another interchange between Heinz Kurz and yourself so
as to make any further revision unnecessary.
If you prefer to do this in writing, I do not mind. I should have
preferred a personal intercounter if I had been in the place of
either you or Heinz Kurz. He will, I think, agree to collaborate
with you in either form.
Perhaps you could start by sending him a revised version of your
paper (if one exists) or by pointing out to him which of the que
ries raised in his comment seem to you acceptable and such that
you want to take account of them, and which do not.
I fully agree with you that this is an unusual amount of bother.
We confess that we are more ambitious than most publishers of
proceeding of conferences; at any rate we feel that a conference
dedicated to the memory of Sraffa' s meticulous work should be
edited according to standards which are higher than the average.
With best wishes,
Yours
